Matt started consulting to the agricultural software industry, and chose “GoodJava” as his company name - specializing in Java software development, and operating out of his home. Over the next several years, Matt traveled daily to client locations and provided services to Precision Planting, Monsanto, Climate Corporation, Bayer, and more.
Matt developed a relationship with another local software consulting firm, serving as their "secret weapon" by stepping in to tackle some of their most challenging work and ensuring the success of critical projects.
As the other software consulting firm entered the process of being acquired, Matt began working more closely with their team and clients, strengthening relationships and helping those clients transition smoothly to a new software provider: GoodJava.
GoodJava opens its first office location in the “barndo” - a 1,200-square-foot apartment above Matt’s detached garage. The rapid growth of the business soon led to the hiring of 10 employees - and the team quickly outgrew the original space.
GoodJava introduces its "GoodFarm Solutions" brand for its agriculture clients. In the same year, GoodJava moved to their current office location in Morton, IL. Soon thereafter, GoodJava was named "Startup Of The Year" by the Illinois Small Business Development Center at The Turner Center for Entrepreneurship at Bradley University.
GoodJava rebrands as "GoodJava Software Solutions"
